On Thursday, LA Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani reflected on his team's dominant 10-2 victory over the New York Mets in Game 4 of the NLCS. With their latest victory, Shohei Ohtani and co. find themselves on the cusp of qualification for the World Series, with one more win enough to win them the NLCS.

Ohtani has had an incredible 2024 season, becoming the first player in MLB history to accumulate 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in the same season. The Japanese international's performances in the regular season have made him the odds-on-favorite to take home the NL MVP award come November.

Along with breaking numerous records individually, the 30-year-old also enjoyed success with his team, as the Dodgers won the NL West division title.

Following the victory on October 17, Ohtani talked to the press about key moments in the game, also showering teammate Mookie Betts with praise for his performance.

"It's been fun being able to see him (Mookie Betts) perform really well, obviously being in a situation where I'm on base. He looks really good and locked in. My job at that point, is making sure that I score on anything that Mookie hits." Ohtani said [2:31]

Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts both hit home runs as Dodgers win again

On Thursday, the LA Dodgers recorded a convincing victory over the New York Mets at Citi Field. Though the hosts were able to keep pace with the visitors' dynamic offense in the early exchanges, a well-rounded offensive performance from the Blues, which saw almost every batter contribute to the scoring, eventually overpowered the Mets.

Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts, who had huge pressure on their shoulders to make things happen offensively for their team, continued to deliver. Shohei Ohtani started the game off perfectly, hitting a leadoff home run in the top of the first inning for an early lead. Mookie Betts also had a fantastic day at the plate, recording a total of four RBIs, including a two-run home run.

With the offense seemingly getting in the perfect groove at the perfect time, the pitching staff is also following suit. Yoshinobu Yamamoto had another strong playoff outing, giving up two runs in 4.1 innings of work, after which bullpen pitchers Evan Phillips, Blake Treinen and Edgardo Henriquez didn't allow any more runs.

The two sides will play again on Friday, the last time in the series to be played at Citi Field, with the next two games, if required, to be played back in LA. Dodgers fans will hope it doesn't come to that, though, and their side can repeat the performances of the last two games to book their tickets to the World Series.
