History was created on Aug. 15 on the pitch in MLB, while off the field, the league's administration made headlines as it looks to make a historic rule change. Here's a look at the updates:

#1, MLB looking to make mandatory six-innings start for pitchers

Starting pitchers in the MLB might have to pitch a minimum of six innings in a major rule change that the league is considering. As per ESPN's Jesse Rogers, the move will look to "restore the prestige of the starting pitcher." Currently, starters average 5.25 innings per game.

As the years have gone by, teams have reduced their starters' pitch counts to keep their high efficiency rates and to keep them healthy. Some exceptions to the six-innings rule that are also being considered are if the pitcher has an injury, has delivered 100 pitches or has earned four runs.

#2, Weston Wilson hits for cycle against Nationals

Phillies outfielder Weston Wilson created history as he hit for the cycle in the game against the Washington Nationals. He became the first rookie in franchise history to do so and the fourth this season, joining Wyatt Langford, Yordan Alvarez and Xavier Edwards.

Wilson hit a triple and a single in the fourth innings, went yard in the seventh innings and a double to right-center field to create history. Before the game, the 29-year-old, who has had plenty of experience in the minors, had made only 16 appearances this season. It is expected that he will come off the bench more often to aid Austin Hays' workload in right field.

#3, Zach Eflin gets 4th win in Orioles jersey vs. Red Sox

Zach Eflin created history becoming the first pitcher in Baltimore Orioles history to earn four wins in his first four starts for the franchise. He set up a solid 5-1 win over their AL East rivals the Boston Red Sox. In 6.0 innings pitched, Eflin earned just one run on five hits and struck out a season-high eight batters.

Eflin, a trade deadline acquisition by the Orioles, has solidified his position as the team's second starter behind Corbin Burnes. Baltimore needed to fix their rotation after Grayson Rodriguez suffered a right lat/teres strain that is expected to keep him out till late September.
