MLB fans are enjoying an exciting postseason, especially with teams getting closer to the World Series. The New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians are battling out in an intense ALCS as both clubs look to book their ticket to the World Series.

It's common for teams to lash out at each other when the competition gets tough. MLB fans are vocal when it comes to supporting their team. Several fans never back down from criticizing opponent players, be it the Guardians or Yankees.

During Game 4 of the ALCS, Juan Soto dropped to the ground at the top of the third inning while avoiding a curveball from Erik Sabrowski. Soto was not injured and the game continued as the Yanks had a 3-1 lead. However, Guardians supporters were seen cheering when Soto took a drop to the ground.

MLB fans were split as they took to social media to share their reactions to the incident. While some fans called out Guardians supporters for cheering, some said it was normal for fans of every team to do the same in similar situations.

Here are some reactions from fans on X/Twitter:

"Just classless, nothing new," wrote one fan.
"We would do the same relax lmao," another fan responded.
"Midwest in general, especially Cleveland are hype for no reason. Passion for a dumpster city," one fan added.

Here are some more comments from fans on social media:

"Like Yankees fans wouldn’t do the same if it was Ramirez," a fan chimed in.
"I mean they are from Ohio, they have that excuse at least," another fan said.
"You guys have thrown stuff at our players, yelled slurs at kwan for getting hurt don’t act morally superior," one fan added.

Yankees just one game away from 2024 MLB World Series

The Bronx Bombers are just one more win away from securing their spot in the 2024 World Series. After their last win against the Guardians, they have a huge shot at winning the series.

The Yankees have a 3-1 advantage in the series and will look to close it out with a win in Game 5 at Progressive Field on Saturday. Carlos Rodon will get the ball in Game 5 for New York while Tanner Bibee will be on the mound for Cleveland.
