While all eyes have been on New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge in the postseason, Giancarlo Stanton has continued his clutch run in October. The veteran slugger added to his impressive resume in the Yankees' win over the Cleveland Guardians in ALCS Game 1 on Monday.

The Yankees were off to a flying start against a struggling Guardians rotation. The Bronx Bombers' four-run lead in the game was threatened after Cleveland scored a run in the sixth. However, Giancarlo Staton seemingly put the game out of their reach with a solo home run in the seventh.

It was the former NL MVP's 13th postseason home run for the Yankees in 32 games in October, tying him with Yankees icon Babe Ruth's record in the same number of games.

Yankees fans applauded the five-time All-Star for his clutch postseason stat line after the win.

"Compare this to Judge. Judge should be ashamed," said a fan highlighting Aaron Judge's postseason struggles.
"Giancarlo shows up when it matters most," wrote another fan.
"Most clutch postseason player since Masa," praised another fan.

Fans continued their praise for Giancarlo Stanton.

"Stanton's postseason power is undeniable! He's a game-changer for the Yankees!" wrote a fan.
"I’m no fan of Stanton but he’s performing like a big game hunter. He’s overshadowing Judge," another fan remarked.
"Stanton's postseason numbers are pretty impressive! A .278 average with 13 homers in 32 games? That's clutch! He definitely shows up when it matters!" hailed another fan.

Giancarlo Stanton rising to the occasion for the Yankees in the postseason

This was the second postseason home run for Giancarlo Stanton this year. His first came against the Kansas City Royals with the scores and series tied at 1-1 in Game 3 of the ALDS. His home run in the eighth inning of the game helped the Yankees take a 2-1 lead in the series and Stanton followed it up with an RBI single in the fourth game to help the Bronx Bombers clinch the division series.

"The weight of the moment," he said before the playoffs. "Every pitch can be the deciding factor of your season. Every out, every pitch is cumulative of the six, seven years of preparation for this. You can't shy away from that. You have to understand that and embrace it and quiet it and get it done."

The Yankees will be hoping to extend their winning run in the postseason when take on the Guardians in Game 2 on Tuesday as they chase a record 41st pennant and a first World Series appearance since 2009.
