New York Yankees fans have been entertained by captain Aaron Judge and Juan Soto's dynamic partnership this season. The duo, who have been pivotal to the Yankees' push for the playoffs this season, etched their names in the history books during Tuesday's clash against the Seattle Mariners.
Juan Soto, who has been an invaluable addition to the Yankees addition since his arrival from the San Diego Padres in the offseason, hit a two-run homer off Mariners starter Bryan Woo.
It was the four-time All-Star's 40th home run of the season to go along with Judge's MLB-leading 53 home runs this season. Judge and Soto became the first Yankees pair to hit 40 home runs each in a season since the iconic Roger Maris and Micky Mantle in 1961.
They are also only the third Yankees pair to do so behind baseball legends Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig (1927,1930 and 1931).

Juan Soto's 40th home run of the season set many records for the Dominican slugger. Furthermore, he became the seventh youngest player to have 200 home runs in MLB history.
His 40th homer came at an opportune time for the Yankees fan-favorite as Soto arrived at T-Mobile Park in Seattle having homered in all the other 29 ballparks. His milestone means he joined a special club of players to have struck a home run in all MLB ballparks.
Although the former World Series winner with the Washington Nationals is going to be outgunned by his teammate Aaron Judge for the AL MVP award, Yankees fans will hope for more of the same from Soto as the Yankees seem poised for a postseason run.
Aaron Judge opened the scoring in the game with an RBI double in the first inning and added another couple of runs in the following inning with a two-run single.
The Yankees currently lead 10-2 after the end of the eight and seem poised to extend their lead at the top of the AL East standings after the Baltimore Orioles' shutout loss to the San Francisco Giants.
