Jackson Holliday has enjoyed a fine rookie season in the major leagues in 2024. He made his debut for the Orioles in 2024 after being drafted first overall by the O's in the 2022 MLB draft. Just like Jackson, his brother Ethan and cousin Brady are also talented baseball players and currently play together for the Stillwater High School baseball team.

On Thursday, Brady's girlfriend, Katy Diesselhorst took to Instagram to post a photo of the couple and express her love for him on the occasion of National Boyfriend Day (October 3). Brady reshared her story on his profile, responding with a heartfelt "Love you."

Brady is the son of Josh Holliday, brother of former MLB star Matt Holliday (Jackson Holliday's father). Despite being drafted in 1995 and playing in the minor leagues, Josh Holliday never made it to the big leagues. Currently, he is the coach of the Oklahoma State Cowboys baseball team, where his father, Tom, also held the same post when he was young.

Jackson Holliday's strong rookie season comes to an end as Orioles are eliminated by Royals

On Wednesday, the Baltimore Orioles' 2024 season came to an end as the Kansas City Royals beat them in two low-scoring encounters at Camden Yards, securing victory in the wildcard series. Bobby Witt Jr. continued to hit in big moments for the visitors, registering hugely important RBIs in both games.

With the loss, Jackson Holliday's impressive first season in the big leagues comes to an end. While the highs of his time with the Orioles come to mind easily, this season also showcased his strong character as he established himself in the lineup despite an initial struggle for form and a demotion back down to Triple-A.

Although his first postseason stint ended quickly against a stubborn Royals team, at just 20-year-old and with players like Gunnar Henderson (23), Adley Rutschman (26), Ryan Mountcastle (27) and Colton Cowser (24) alongside him, Holliday and the Orioles will have ample opportunity to compete for silverware in the years to come.
