MLB analysts Rich Ciancimino and Sean Casey talked about the New York Yankees, the form of star men Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, and their chances of a potential playoff run. The Yankees currently have an 88-63 win/loss record for the 2024 season and are in a strong position to make the postseason as they sit atop the AL East.

Sean Casey had quite a successful big league career himself, representing the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians), Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox in a 12-year stint in MLB.

He was also the Yankees' hitting coach from the All-Star break to the end of the 2023 campaign (71 games).

Casey is in the Reds' Hall of Fame and was nicknamed "The Mayor" during his time in Cincinnati, as he had a reputation for chatting to base runners and also for his frequent charity work. He currently runs his own podcast on YouTube.

On Wednesday's edition of The Mayor's Office with Sean Casey, Sean said the Yankees are "exactly where they need to be".

"I feel the Yankees are exactly where they need to be. [Austin] Wells is swinging the bat well, another big hit last night, drove in three runs. Judgy (Aaron Judge) had a couple more hits, drove in a bunch of runs. That lineup is starting to really take shape right when you want it to." [9:09]
"I'm glad Judgy and Soto struggled a little bit the last couple of weeks, because they're starting to get hot again. That is what you want if you're Aaron Boone, you look at your lineup, you go 'this is exactly where we wanna be coming into the end of September'." [9:25]

Juan Soto and Aaron Judge power Yankees past the Mariners

The New York Yankees routed the Seattle Mariners 11-2 at T-Mobile Park on Tuesday, as the visitors took the first of the three-game series. The Yankees took control of the game early, with two runs in each of the first two innings. Starter Luis Gil looked good on the mound as he gave up only one run and struck out five in five innings of work.

Aaron Judge and Juan Soto were again at the heart of the action, as numerous Yankees had great days at the plate. Aaron Judge drove in all of the visitors' first four runs, while Juan Soto hit his 40th home run of the season in the top of the fourth inning.

Rookies Austin Wells and Jasson Dominguez also did their part, with the former driving in three runs and the latter hitting his first home run of the season.

Next, the Bronx Bombers take on the Mariners once again on Wednesday, aiming to clinch the series with a win.
