Giancarlo Stanton is one of the most powerful hitters alive today. The New York Yankees slugger has made a living by crushing pitchers' dreams by launching mammoth home run after mammoth home run. Although the veteran's tenure with New York has been a mixed bag, he's cleared 25 home runs yet again, becoming the only active player to do so in 10+ seasons.

Despite his struggles in recent years, particularly with his health, Stanton's home run power has not decreased. New York Yankee fans and fellow MLB players, including Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs, are blown away by Stanton's power.

On the latest episode of The Compound Podcast, the Chicago Cubs slugger told a story about Stanton crushing a massive home run over his head at Yankee Stadium.

"I will never forget when we went to New York for the first time and Stanton hit a home run over my head at like 120 mph. It was the loudest, hardest hit ball I've ever seen in person, and I was just like 'Oh My God' [4:40]," Happ explained.

This description isn't surprising, given Stanton's potent bat. It is also no surprise Giancarlo smashed the hardest-hit home run in MLB history. On August 9, 2018, Stanton hit a home run against the Texas Rangers that clocked in at 121.7 mph.

To make things even more impressive, Stanton holds 5 of the top 10 hardest-hit round-trippers in MLB history. Although he is susceptible to strikeouts, when he gets ahold of a pitch, it's gone. Stanton is tied with New York Mets legend Mike Piazza for 51st on the career home runs list with 427.

The Yankees need Giancarlo Stanton to stay healthy if they hope to win the World Series this year

Despite having two of the best players in baseball, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, the rest of the Yankees have struggled to consistently produce. Although Stanton has struggled at times this year, simply having him in the lineup makes the Yankees dangerous.

Giancarlo Stanton has played in just 98 games this season due to various injuries. With a few weeks remaining in the year, it will be interesting to see how Yankees manager Aaron Boone utilizes Stanton to ensure he is fresh for the postseason stretch.
