Ex-New York Mets third baseman David Wright said on Tuesday that Francisco Lindor is his candidate of choice for NL MVP despite an incredible season from LA Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani became the first player to cross the 50-50 mark in major league history and has been widely regarded as the favorite to take home the award come the end of the season.

David Wright played 13 seasons in the MLB, all with the Mets. He had a successful time in New York, as he was a seven-time All-Star, won two Golden Gloves and two Silver Slugger awards.

On Tuesday's episode of "Amazin' Conversations with Jay Horowitz," Wright said that in his opinion, Lindor should win the NL MVP award for his performances this season, particularly on defense.

"[9:22] This may be a hot take: I think Francisco Lindor should be the NL MVP," Wright said. "What Shohei Ohtani's done is out of this world and obviously never been done before. But, there's something to be said for what Francisco Lindor does on the defensive end. I saw it firsthand last night (Monday)."
"It doesn't do it justice watching him on TV, how smooth he is and how he makes incredibly difficult plays look easy. If I had a vote, Francisco Lindor would be my NL MVP."

Francisco Lindor continues excellent postseason with another homer as Mets win game two of NLCS

The New York Mets beat the 7-3 on Monday in the second game of the NLCS at Dodger Stadium. After getting shut and blown out in the opening game (9-0), it was the perfect bounce back performance from the visiting team.

The Mets got off to a strong start as they scored in the first inning via Francisco Lindor, who has been leading their charge this season. He hit a towering home run to right field in the game's first at-bat to set the tone for a comfortable Mets victory in the end.

At the halfway stage of the game, the Mets were up 5-0 and cruising. The Dodgers made things interesting as they scored runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings but the game was taken away from them when Starling Marte added an insurance run in the top of the ninth.

Francisco Lindor and the Mets now find themselves in a good spot as they head to Citi Field for the next three games where their fans will be cheering them on. If they can replicate their performance in Game 2, the pressure will be on the Dodgers to at least win one game there and bring the series back to Los Angeles.
