Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager didn't have the best of the seasons before it was cut short due to a sports hernia surgery he underwent a few weeks ago. The two-time World Series champion last played on Sept. 2 against the New York Yankees and with the surgery done, he looks forward to a full recovery before next season's spring training.
Amid all this, his wife, Madisyn, has been with him throughout posting about the recovery update of the shortstop. The couple is enjoying their off-time roaming the country.
On Monday, Madisyn and Corey paid a visit to Spring Mountain Vineyard in California. Before arriving there, the couple enjoyed a romantic getaway in Napa. The couple posted a snap of themselves kissing each other. Madisyn was in white attire, while Corey Seager was wearing a grey T-shirt on black shorts with a locket hanging by his neck.
"Wine country with my [love]," Madisyn wrote.
Corey Seager shares his offseason plans following his sports hernia surgery
On Sept. 12, the Rangers announced that Corey Seager was ruled out for the season as he was scheduled to undergo his second sports hernia surgery in the last nine months, albeit on the other side.
The shortstop said that he has struggled with the issue since last year and with the Rangers not making the postseason, the decision to undergo surgery was for the best.
“I feel good, it’s good to be on the other end of [the surgery],” Seager said after undergoing surgery, per MLB.com. “Just to be able to have a healthy offseason is nice. I’m frustrated, obviously, that my season had to end early, but in general, it was probably the right thing to do, and just to be able to look forward to next year.”
The goal ahead for Corey Seager is to start rehabbing so that he can be available from Day 1 of spring training.
“Personally, [my goal for the offseason] is just to get healthy,” Seager said. “I didn't really have an offseason last year obviously, so to be able to just kind of get healthy and get your body back where you want to is something I'm really looking forward to.”
In 2024, Corey Seager hit .278 along with 30 home runs, 74 RBIs and 53 walks.
