Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager had his 2024 season cut short in early September, as he required season-ending sports hernia surgery, which he underwent last month. He now looks forward to recover without any setback.
As the Rangers haven't qualified for the postseason, Seager used the time to jet off for a vacation with his wife, Madisyn. The Rangers, who won their first World Series last year, has a big offseason to look forward to as well.
On Monday, Madisyn posted photos from the runway of an airport where a jet is seen waiting for them. In the next few snaps, the couple were seen being welcomed with a pitcher of cocktail margarita on their arrival. In the evening, Madisyn posted the photo of a sunset.
The next day, Madisyn posted a selfie with her husband. She was wearing a brown and white zebra-print dress accessorized with gold hoop earrings and a small brown handbag. Meanwhile, Seager was in a black button-down Hawaiian shirt with a pattern of white palm trees.
Corey Seager sounds optimistic in his recovery after second sports hernia surgery
Corey Seager, who last played against the New York Yankees on Sept. 2, underwent successful sports hernia surgery (right hip) on Sept. 12, his second such surgery in the last nine months after having it done on the other side of his hip in January.
After the operation, Seager said that he's looking forward to a positive recovery in the offseason.
“I feel good, it’s good to be on the other end of (the surgery),” Seager said on Friday. “Just to be able to have a healthy offseason is nice. I’m frustrated, obviously, that my season had to end early, but in general, it was probably the right thing to do, and just to be able to look forward to next year.
“Personally, (my goal for the offseason) is just to get healthy,” Seager said. “I didn't really have an offseason last year obviously, so to be able to just kind of get healthy and get your body back where you want to is something I'm really looking forward to.”
The reason why the Rangers didn't delay his surgery until the end of the regular season was to make sure that Corey Seager gets ready before spring training next year.
