Bryce Harper's influence on Nick Castellanos' move to Philadelphia endears Phillies fans - "He is basically a GM for us"

Nick Castellanos and Bryce Harper are amazing mates

Nick Castellanos was the star in the NLDS, while Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber have been excellent with their striking displays in the NLCS. Castellanos has a unique swing, which helped him produce two back-to-back homer games against the Braves in the NLDS.

Harper, on the other hand, has a brute left swing, and his ability to watch the ball like a hawk is simply mesmerizing to watch on screen. Philadelphia is one game away from making it to the World Series for the second year in a row.

Recently, Castellanos revealed that Harper played an integral role in his move to the Phillies from free agency. Castellanos has impressed and dominated in a 2-2 count, while Harper is just smashing baseballs into oblivion this postseason.

"Nick Castellanos said Bryce Harper was 'very' involved in recruiting him to sign with the Phillies as a free agent. Castellanos was focusing on other teams until Harper reached out to say that he wanted Castellanos, a longtime friend, to join him in Philly." - jonmorosi

Baseball fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their love and awe for Harper after learning about his involvement in Castellano's signing with the Phillies about a year ago, in early 2022.

"GM Harper is the best." - Anthony60957284
"Was either Miami or back to Cincinnati. Nick made the right choice." - Nati_Sports
"Harper u r the GM now." - PurpleCobra56
"Didn’t hurt that Dave Dombrowski was the GM that had Castellanos in Detroit. DD was also thinking Castellanos as a DH knowing his defensive liabilities. Harper’s injury deterred that." - rdmnrenno
"I always wondered why Bryce had a sort of weird reaction to hearing about them signing Schwarber. He almost seemed unhappy about it when initially asked. I remember he said something like “that’s great but I hope that isn’t it”. Knowing this now, it makes way more sense." - theNegadelphian

Nick Castellanos and Bryce Harper will look to seal the deal in Game 6

The NLCS returns to Citizens Bank Park for Game 6 between the Phillies and the D-backs. Nick Castellanos will look to produce a sound game on the lines of his NLDS performances. At the same time, Bryce Harper will focus on how to batter Merrill Kelly early on in the game, who will go against the Phillies' Aaron Nola tonight.

Teams that are 3-2 up in a best-of-seven series with the final three games at home have won 80% of the time in the MLB postseason.
