Two of the biggest NL stars this season, Shohei Ohtani and Francisco Lindor, are battling it out on the field in the ongoing NLCS showdown between the LA Dodgers and the New York Mets on Sunday. Both led their team from the front in the regular season and even during this playoffs, showing why they are the favorites to win the NL MVP this year.

Hilariously, during NLCS Game 1, Lindor darted a hard throw in an attempt to catch runner at first. However, Ohtani, who was standing on second base upright, didn't know he was saved by a whisker. The throw from the Mets shortstop was very close to hitting Ohtani on the head.

As the video went viral among netizens, fans had hilarious reactions,

One fan took reference to knowing Shohei Ohtani's wife, Mamiko Tanaka, was a former basketball player.

"Ohtani learning from the wifey and set a screen on Lindor," another wrote.

The Dodger shunted the Mets 9-0 to take Game 1 in the best-of-seven series. LA's pitching has been great in the last few games this postseason. with 33 consecutive scoreless innings pitched.

“We’ve got to figure out a way to come back (Monday) and play better,” Francisco Lindor who went 0-3 with one walk said.

Meanwhile, Shohei Ohtani finds himself lucky to be part of a star studded roster.

"I'm just really lucky um the team has been providing a lot of opportunities for me to hit with runners in scoring position and I'm grateful for that," Ohtani told Tom Verducci through his interpreter.
