The Atlanta Braves game on Saturday against the San Diego Padres has been postponed due to inclement weather conditions. Unfortunately for fans of both clubs looking forward to the match at Truist Park, it has been officially shifted to Monday.

The two clubs will face each other in a doubleheader, with the originally scheduled game proceeding as planned. The Atlanta Braves announced the news on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, saying:

“Tonight’s game against the San Diego Padres has been postponed due to inclement weather. We had been hopeful that we would find conditions suitable to play; however, after further consultation with the weather service, radar indicates unsuitable conditions for starting the game."
“This game has been rescheduled for Monday at 6:20 PM ET as part of a split doubleheader. A separate ticket is required for each game. Monday’s originally scheduled 12:20 PM ET game will be played as planned."

Since Monday’s game was scheduled for 12:20 PM ET, the Atlanta Braves will face the San Diego Padres at 6:20 PM ET on Monday. Padres pitcher Yu Darvish, who was scheduled to pitch on Saturday, will now pitch on Sunday.

On Monday, the San Diego Padres plan to have Dylan Cease and Randy Vasquez as starting pitchers. The Padres intended to bring back pitcher Joe Musgrove from the injured list, but now his return will be delayed until Tuesday's series with the Cincinnati Reds.

Yu Darvish’s hunt for his 200th win will have to wait

Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish will have to wait another day for his 200th win. If the right-hander records a victory on Sunday, he will become the third pitcher to have at least 200 wins between Nippon Professional Baseball and MLB.

So far, Darvish has recorded 199 victories with 93 in Japan and 106 in the majors. With one more victory, he will be just behind Hiroki Kuroda with 203 wins and Hideo Nomo with 201 wins.

The 37-year-old has already surpassed Nomo for most strikeouts by a Japanese-born player in MLB history. In February 2023, Yu Darvish signed a six-year, $108 million contract extension with the San Diego Padres.
