Teoscar Hernandez has signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers for a one-year, $23.5 million deal and will become a free agent soon if his contract isn't extended. In that case, the best-case scenario would be to move him before the MLB trade deadline.

Hernandez is a hot take, especially after his unexpected victory at the Home Run Derby 2024. Ever since he joined the Dodgers, his slump in past seasons seems to have gone away. He ranks seventh with 62 RBIs, with 19 homers, which keeps him tied in fifth place in the National League and the second-most in the team.

So, Teoscar Hernandez is catching a lot of traction, especially after his redemption from the skid of a couple of years. So, some trade destinations have definitely opened up for the outfielder.

Three trade destinations rumored to be available for Teoscar Hernandez

#1 Seattle Mariners

Holly Baylor of MLB Network has reported that the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Seattle Mariners have probably agreed a trade: Teoscar Hernandez for Logan Gilbert.

That shocked a lot of fans, as many thought that the Dodgers would retain Hernandez after his Home Run Derby win.

However, Dodgers GM Andrew Friedman has explained that the Derby victory doesn't hold much value in the major league.

"Sure, Teoscar won the home run derby, but we all know that was Mickey Mouse," said Friedman.

#2 Texas Rangers

Before the Home Run Derby 2024, nobody could see Teoscar Hernandez as the winner of the contest about slugging the most home runs.

However, Hernandez proved everybody wrong and made a name for himself. Moreover, in an interview, Hernandez also mentioned that Arlington, Texas, is his second home after his native place, the Dominican Republic.

If thata's true, Hernandez might opt to go for the Texas Rangers, who would also love to have him on their roster, as per Zach Pressnell of FanSided. These comments from Hernandez make it easy for the Rangers to put up an offer if the Dodgers don't extend his one-year contract.

#3 Boston Red Sox

Before getting signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Teoscar Hernandez had the Boston Red Sox as his first option.

During the offseason, he even mentioned that he'd have taken up the two-year, $28 million deal if the Red Sox had made an offer. However, the team took their time, so Hernandez had to make a decision.

He saw how the Dodgers signed many big players like Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Juan Soto. He knew that there was something big brewing up in the team, so he decided to give up on the wait for the Red Sox.

However, the tables have turned after Hernandez's performance at the Home Run Derby. This opens the door once again for him to get into the Red Sox in free agency.
