According to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, Cristian Pache has been designated for assignment by the Miami Marlins. The 25-year-old outfielder, who was acquired off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles back at the beginning of August, will now find himself potentially joining his fourth team of the year if he is claimed by another team.

A former top prospect of the Atlanta Braves, Cristian Pache has struggled to make much on an impact at the plate throughtout his MLB career so far. While he has maintained a high-level of defense, he has been unable to piece it all together at the dish. That being said, he is still young and has the potential to turn things around.

While Pache will not be eligible for the playoffs if a contender were to claim him off waivers, he still has three more years of arbitration eligbility, so he could be an intriguing pick up for a team looking more into the future. That being said, for teams looking to secure a postseason spot, a few games of Pache could benefit the them.

Here's a look at three potential landing spots for Cristian Pache after being DFA'd by the Marlins

#1 Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers are one of the most intriguing landing spots for Pache given the fact that the team is looking to hold down an American League Wild Card Spot. Prior to Tuesday's action, the Tigers sit only 1.0 games ahead of the Minnesota Twins for a postseason berth. Pache's defensive upside could make him a solid pickup for the team as it looks to lock the Wild Card down for the final games of the season.

#2 Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies will miss the postseason yet again, making it their sixth consecutive year without playoff baseball. On Monday, long-time team icon Charlie Blackmon announced that he will be retiring at the end of the year, making the need for future pieces even more important.

The fact that Cristian Pache has years of team control on his contract means that he could be part of the team's future moving forward. Although Pache owns a career .181 batting average, could a jump to the notoriously hitter-friendly Coors Field help the outfielder find himself at the plate? Might be worth a shot for the struggling Rockies franchise.

#3 Chicago White Sox

What else is there to say about the current state of the Chicago White Sox that hasn't already been said? The White Sox have been putting together one of the worst seasons in MLB history, so at this point, why not take a shot on Pache?

The team has continued to sell-off many of its veteran players in order to restock the farm system. While Cristian Pache has not exactly been Shohei Ohtani, the White Sox could consider adding the 25-year-old to the roster just to wait and see what he could potentially bring to the team in the future.
