The Boruto fanbase has once again come up with an interesting theory. This time, it centers around the protagonist as well as Kawaki. This duo was inseparable and they were reliable on the battlefield. However, things have changed rather drastically in the manga series as it has led to the two of them becoming rivals fighting each other to the death.

Kawaki was always perceived as an angry, revenge-seeking individual. However, in his mind, he believes he is doing the right thing by protecting Naruto. This particular theory hinges on the relationship shared between Kawaki and the protagonist while drawing parallels to Sasuke and Itachi Uchiha.

As per the fan theory, the community foresees the possibility of Kawaki and Boruto potentially having one last fight to the death. This could be an interesting take on the relationship that Kawaki and the protagonist share at the moment.

Fan theory explores the possibility of a clash between Boruto and Kawaki that is similar to Itachi and Sasuke

Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha were brothers who once hated each other. Sasuke saw his elder brother kill his own parents and the rest of the Uchiha clan all by himself. Naturally, there was a lot of resentment and it led to an all-out war between the two. In the end, it ended with Sasuke becoming stronger and eventually killing Itachi. This also led to the awakening of his Mangekyo Sharingan, making him far stronger.

The fan theory explores a similar outcome, except it involves Kawaki and Boruto. The two were considered brothers and had a strong bond. However, things drastically changed when Kawaki realized that his friend was a threat to Naruto. The Seventh Hokage’s treatment of Kawaki changed his life. He would do anything to save Naruto, and therefore, Kawaki sealed him in a different dimension altogether.

He did this so that he could take on Boruto and kill him once and for all, thereby avoiding any issue that could be caused by Momoshiki. Fans have reason to believe that the protagonist and Kawaki are similar to Itachi and Sasuke, respectively.

The fan theory speculates the possibility of their fallout eventually resulting in the protagonist’s death. The fight could also result in Kawaki’s massive power-up. The manga could also explain Kawaki’s doujutsu by elaborating on its powers and functions.

This would certainly be a twist that no one would expect as the protagonist’s death could result in the series’ conclusion. This would mean that Kawaki achieved his goal, and then, he would bring Naruto and Hinata back into this world by removing them from Daikokuten.

Itachi and Sasuke’s bond is the main connecting dot in this particular fan theory. The rivalry and brotherhood that was seen between Kawaki and the protagonist can be compared to that of the Uchiha siblings. This is the foundation of the theory and thereby states that they could suffer from similar fates.

Conclusion

While this is an interesting fan theory, the likelihood of this happening is quite low. Killing the main protagonist would not be the best idea from a writer’s perspective, and concluding the series in this manner would be quite abrupt. Additionally, if the series were to continue, then setting up a new protagonist would result in an extremely odd viewing experience.
