This former WWE champion will reportedly not be AEW signing at Full Gear.

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan announced that a new AEW signing will be revealed this Saturday at Full Gear, and a heavily speculated former WWE champion is not it, as per a report.

The WWE Grand Slam champion in question is Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks). Mone is currently signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling after her departure from the Stamford-based promotion last year. Furthermore, The CEO was reportedly slated to wrestle on AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door and other events.

However, Mercedes' injury halted all the plans, and she is currently still out of action. Meanwhile, Tony Khan has announced that a new AEW signing is set to be revealed this Saturday at the Full Gear PPV. Considering the description given by TK, fans on the internet speculated wrestlers such as Will Ospreay, Mercedes Mone, and so on.

Recently, a report has emerged regarding Mone possibly being revealed as the new All Elite signing this Saturday. According to Fightful Select, fans shouldn't expect Mercedes Mone to be All Elite at Full Gear, as sources have been told that The CEO is less likely to be the new signing.

Moreover, the report also stated that the former WWE Women's Champion had been in talks to wrestle for AEW in the past. While Mone is still in plans to work with the Jacksonville-based promotion, the exact date of her debut remains obscure.

Former WWE Women's Champion is nearing recovery

As mentioned earlier, Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) has been out of action for weeks due to injury. Nonetheless, a report emerged last month regarding her recovery in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Here is what Dave Meltzer stated:

"Mercedes Mone is now out of her walking boot. She’s still kept her timetable quiet about returning to wrestling. The expectation, given they showed her at All In in the crowd more than once, is that she would be working here and with New Japan and/or STARDOM."

Mone reportedly came out of her walking boots last month. Hence, she could be on the road to recovery, and only time will tell when Mercedes will be back in action.
