Ricky Starks has not been used for quite some time and the lengthy AEW absence has surely impacted his mood in the company. A new report from Dr. Chris Featherstone has shed light on his AEW status and how Ricky Starks is allegedly unhappy.

"Absolute" Ricky Starks has been in AEW since 2020 and gradually developed a reputation as a main event star in the making. He last competed in a Collision episode in March when he was still in an alliance with Big Bill. A lot has been said about Starks' current position in AEW, and Dr. Chris Featherstone reports that the former tag team champion is not too pleased with not being used.

Sources close to the situation noted that Starks was never injured and has always been cleared to wrestle since his unexplained absence from AEW TV. Regarding potential releases, Tony Khan has had internal meetings with talents. The promotion is open to granting releases to stars who are frustrated. However, the situation is a little more complicated in Ricky's case.

As things stand, Starks "remains shelved for no reason given to him," as Featherstone stated - a big twist in the 34-year-old wrestler's future in AEW.

Here's what Dr. Chris Featherstone revealed via his sources in AEW:

The former FTW champion is seemingly not the only major star upset about his run in AEW, as Miro recently asked for his release, and all eyes will be on Tony Khan and how he handles a tricky situation regarding talent management.
