AEW reportedly wants to sign a popular young star after a fan-made graphic of the match went viral. A fan on social media shared the said graphic.

The promising star in question is CMLL star Mascara Dorada. The 22-year-old last wrestled in AEW earlier this year. Recently, a fan on social media shared a fake graphic of a match between the current International Champion Konosuke Takeshita, and Dorada for Dynamite.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio recently, Dave Meltzer noted that while the graphic of the Takeshita vs. Dorada match is fake, the Jacksonville-based promotion is interested in the said match and the company would like to have the CMLL star back. Meltzer stated the following in his report:

"So I actually was asked and I go like, 'What happened to Mascara Dorada?' And they said, 'That was a fake graphic, but what a great match. Boy, do we want to put that match on now.' So whoever made up this great match or this fake graphic, he spurred an idea in people's heads and, in fact, they love the idea of that match. I don't know if it's going to happen anytime soon and Mascara Dorada as of now has not been able to work for AEW. I mean, they want him, they would like to have him." [H/T: Cultaholic]

The new AEW International Champion is set for his first title defense

At the recent WrestleDream Pay-Per-View, Konosuke Takeshita became the new International Champion by defeating both Will Ospreay and Ricochet in a three-way match. Meanwhile, Takeshita's first title defense has been announced and he is set to defend his title against TNA star Josh Alexander at the Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling event this Sunday.

Only time will tell what Tony Khan has in store for Takeshita as the International Championship.
