A certain wrestling journalist has commented on the speculation that Shane McMahon was headed to AEW. According to their sources, no one close to him was surprised by his meeting with Tony Khan.

A few months ago, a leaked photo of McMahon and Khan's meeting surfaced online. This fast-tracked the rumors and conversations about Shane O'Mac potentially joining the company. The WWE veteran claimed that the meeting was simply for them to have friendly conversations about their love for the business, among many things.

During an exclusive Live Q&A Interview with WrestleVotes conducted by Joe Lowry, Shane McMahon and whether he was headed to AEW were discussed. WrestleVotes reported that after reaching out to some sources close to Shane, he found out that no one was surprised he took the meeting.

He mentioned that despite this, there was no indication that he was headed to the promotion. He did provide food for thought, as tomorrow night's Dynamite: Grand Slam will be taking place in McMahon's hometown, and an appearance could be possible.

Shane McMahon's close friend talked about whether this move could happen

Pete Gas, a former member of the WWE faction Mean Streat Posse and a close friend of Shane, recently gave his take on the matter.

He believed it was possible, and knowing how meticulous Shane McMahon was, you could never say to the idea.

“Never say never. That’s the only thing I can say. I don’t know. The history behind Shane, and everyone, Shane loves to kayfabe. Shane is not going to let anything out that he doesn’t want out. It’s funny because they teased that whole thing with him meeting with Khan. It piques people’s interest. You never say never with Shane. He lives for that moment. The whole thing when he came back (to WWE), everything is kayfabe with him. It’s always been kayfabe. That’s how he lives. You never say never,” Pete said.
