A top AEW star was allegedly interested in signing with WWE, however, recent reports have provided a major update on his future. The star is none other than Daniel Garcia who has competed for the WWE before it was under Triple H's leadership.

The 25-year-old has been absent from television ever since he suffered a brutal beatdown at the hands of MJF on the July 3rd episode of Dynamite. The angle was reportedly done to protect Garcia as his contract with the Tony Khan-led company is expiring soon.

In a recent report by Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that AEW is hopeful that Daniel Garcia will sign a new deal and feud with MJF. The veteran journalist also stated that Garcia was interested in going to WWE in the past where he would have started on the NXT brand.

"The general belief remains that Daniel Garcia will sign a new AEW deal and feud with MJF upon his return. He did have interest in going to WWE, although he’d likely have had to start in NXT." [H/T: WON]

AEW star Matt Menard provides an update on Danial Garcia

Matt Menard is a close friend of Daniel Garcia and recently on Close Up with Renee Paquette, Daddy Magic spoke about MJF's brutal attack on Garcia last month. The 40-year-old revealed that Daniel had suffered vicious injuries and had lost all the strength in the left side of his body. He further hoped that Garcia would make a full recovery.

"This time has been stolen from him. What, it’s been two, three weeks now since Max did whatever he did. We don’t know when Daniel’s gonna come back. He lost all the strength in the left side of his body. [His body] has been through so much, and doctors are very careful. We do not know when Daniel’s going to come back. I just hope he makes a full recovery. It’s sad." [H/T: Fightful]

It is currently unknown whether Daniel Garcia will sign another contract with AEW or potentially head to the WWE. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 25-year-old.
