A recent report has suggested that a former WWE champion is not likely to join AEW soon. The star has been rumored to join All Elite ever since his release from the Stamford-based promotion.

The former WWE champion in question is none other than Matt Riddle. The Original Bro was signed with the Stamford-based promotion from 2018 until his release in September 2023. Riddle won the United States Championship, the RAW Tag Team Championship, and the NXT Tag Team Championship during his run. He has been wrestling in various indie promotions ever since his release.

Now, a report from Fightful Select talks about Matt Riddle potentially joining AEW. According to the report, Tony Khan has not shown any interest in bringing Riddle to his promotion. It was also reported that All Elite talent barely works with Riddle on the independent scene except in Mexico.

The report also noted that Riddle is expected to appear in TNA Wrestling as he recently confirmed having had talks with the promotion. Matt has also wrestled with top promotions like Major League Wrestling (MLW) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) but is yet to sign a contract.

Overall, Riddle is unlikely to join All Elite Wrestling as per the report. Only time will tell what the future has in store for the former WWE Superstar.
