A former AEW champion, who has been absent for a year, was supposed to make his return. However, those plans have seemingly been scrapped.

Scorpio Sky first started in AEW as part of SoCal Uncensored alongside Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian. However, it didn't take long for him to branch out and pursue a singles career. He had a successful run as a singles star and even won the TNT Championship twice in 2022. However, it has been downhill for Sky since he lost the title.

The 41-year-old has not been featured on television regularly after several new stars were hired. Sky's last match on AEW television came on the September 16, 2023, episode of Collision against Andrade. He had to spend some time on the shelf due to a knee injury but is now seemingly cleared to return.

During a recent episode of Fightful Select's Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp said AEW planned to have Scorpio Sky work with Private Party, but the creative pitch was seemingly scrapped.

Scorpio Sky even teased his return on AEW Rampage

After suffering an injury during his match against Darius Martin, Scorpio Sky was sidelined for several months. However, fans were happy when he teased his return.

On the May 11, 2024, episode of Rampage, a vignette aired where Scorpio Sky announced that he was coming back.

“I have done things people dream about. I have made money. Faced legends. Won championship after championship. You might not want to hear this but that was easy. That does not mean I don't relate. I understand that a normal person in my position would fail because since time began, when people wanted to see a star, they’d look up at the sky and all that does is put me in the perfect place to reach down and lift you up here with me. So to all the fans around the world, I am coming back and I am here for you.”

It has been several months since the vignette aired, and there have been no signs of the former TNT Champion on the company's programming.
