It has been reported that a former AEW champion will not be around for tonight's special episode of Dynamite. This was due to him being stretchered out of the arena before the show. This would be Sammy Guevara.

The Spanish God is a frequent competitor in AEW's sister promotion, Ring of Honor, where he is one-half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions with Dustin Rhodes. He has made sporadic appearances for All Elite Wrestling in recent months.

It was reported by those in attendance tonight that during the ROH tapings before Dynamite's 5th-anniversary show, Sammy Guevara was in action against Serpentico. It was mentioned that he took an awkward landing after hitting a cutter, and the match was immediately stopped and called off.

Sean Ross Sapp has reported on the situation and has noted that he was stretchered out after seemingly being knocked out during the sequence.

"I'm told Sammy Guevara was stretchered out of the ROH tapings after apparently being knocked out. Hoping all the best for him," SRS reported.

Footage of the scene after the incident can be found here.

It is interesting to note that the former TNT Champion sustained a concussion last year during AEW WrestleDream and missed around two months of action afterward.

We at Sportskeeda hope for his speedy recovery.
