A new report has revealed why former AEW World Champion MJF registered a win over Daniel Garcia at the 2024 All Out pay-per-view. It was Garcia's return match after several weeks of inactivity.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman squared off against Daniel Garcia at All Out 2024 to settle their grueling rivalry that has been going on for weeks. This was Garcia's first match since July, when he was defeated by Will Ospreay. Friedman vs. Garcia turned out to be brutal as expected, as The Red Death was bloodied and battered.

In an unpredictable, back-and-forth encounter, MJF managed to steal the victory with a sneaky pinfall. However, the match's finish was supposed to be different, per a report. Ibou of WrestlePurists has reported that Garcia was expected to get a clean win over The Wolf of Wrestling but the contest's climax was changed due to contract reasons.

Daniel Garcia has reportedly still not signed a new deal with the Tony Khan-led promotion. Hence, the finish of his All Out bout was seemingly changed. There were rumors of Garcia possibly jumping ship to WWE after his current deal is up. However, nothing significant has come of it yet.

Tony Khan on Daniel Garcia's AEW contract status

During the All In 2024 post-show media scrum, All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was asked about the contract status of Daniel Garcia amid rumors of him possibly going to WWE. Khan said the following about The Red Death's position in AEW:

"I don't wanna necessarily comment on everybody's contract length or status, but Daniel's here and he's a great part of AEW. It's been about three years with Daniel here. So he's someone who's been with us a really long time, somebody beloved by the fans and backstage, and we love having Daniel here."
