AEW went through several major evolutions throughout its first few years, one of which was the inclusion of wrestling legends and WWE Hall of Famers in its weekly programming. One of the first appearances from a legend was the shocking debut of Jake "The Snake" Roberts in March 2020.

Jake Roberts turned up on AEW Dynamite for a promo segment with Cody Rhodes, who was trying to find a new direction after losing a highly-acclaimed feud with MJF. The WWE Hall of Famer warned Rhodes that his "client" was coming before turning his back on the EVP.

That client turned out to be Lance Archer, whom Roberts still manages to this day. However, the beginning of their partnership was uncertain, as Jake "The Snake" was offered just a six-week deal when he first appeared for All Elite Wrestling.

Speaking on the most recent edition of Rewind Recap Relive, Roberts delved into his history with Tony Khan's promotion, revealing that after his six-week deal was up, he received an offer for a year-long contract:

"We made a deal for me to be there for six weeks, and at the end of four weeks, they gave me some papers saying I was going to be there for a year. Then, when the year contract was up, they gave me another contract for two years, and I just got another contract for a year. So, yeah, I'm still there." [H/T: Fightful]

Jake "The Snake" Roberts recently signed a deal with AEW

Jake Roberts' appearances for All Elite Wrestling have been sporadic lately, owing to the current storylines and consideration for Jake's health. However, the 69-year-old is still signed with the Jacksonville-based promotion and recently revealed that he's got at least another year in the company.

Following his surprising return at this year's AEW Revolution pay-per-view, Jake revealed on his Snake Pit podcast that he had signed for another year. The legendary star will presumably continue to manage Lance Archer:

"Well folks, just to let you know, you’re gonna be looking at me on AEW for another year. That’s right, they re-signed me so that’s great news. Looking forward to doing it."

Roberts does more than just appear on television for the promotion, as he was officially named an advisor in AEW Together, the company's community outreach program, early last year. It remains to be seen when Roberts will return to television.
