Recent reports have surfaced talking about the reason an AEW star was written off TV. Fans were surprised with this piece of information, with some thinking there was a chance he could leave. This would be Daniel Garcia.

Almost a month ago, Garcia received a beatdown from MJF after he failed to win the International Championship from Will Ospreay. Due to how gruesome the attack was, there was no timeline for his return, and this has been a factor during the current feud between Friedman and Ospreay.

Yesterday, Bryan Alvarez on the Wrestling Observer Radio reported that the attack angle was done in the case that Daniel Garcia would not re-sign with the company. His contract is said to expire later in the year, with no indication as of now what his next move will be.

Some fans believed that when all was said and done, he will sign another deal with the promotion. He was a home-grown talent and someone that Tony Khan may not want to drop. One fan mentioned that he should not leave as he may not be valued as much by other companies.

"He seems like an AEW for life kinda guy," a fan claimed.
"Losing DG would su*k. Guy is money," another mentioned.
"Why would he leave? He’s not going to get this much tv time anywhere else," said another.

Others talked about the possibility of him hitting free agency. One fan even claimed that WWE could be after him and that William Regal could bring him into NXT. Another claimed that it would not be surprising should he leave AEW, as they had a talented enough roster to get by.

"The biggest free agent in wrestling history?!" one claimed.
"Regal about to cook with another signing," another hoped.
"I won't be surprised if he doesn't. They'll be fine," a fan mentioned.

Before recent reports, Daniel Garcia was expected to re-sign with AEW

Earlier this month, it seemed that contract talks with Daniel Garcia were heading in another direction.

Following the segment that wrote him off TV, it was reported on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the AEW star's contract was set to expire by October. For several months now, Garcia has hinted at his contract talks being a crucial juncture for his career.

At the time, the belief was that he was going to re-sign with the company, and there was a low chance of him leaving.

"Daniel Garcia's AEW contract is set to expire in October, unless he has signed a new deal with the company. Regardless, Garcia is not expected to leave the promotion." [H/T - WON]

While uncertainty continues regarding his future, fans will just have to stay tuned to reports regarding Garcia and whether he ends up staying or leaving AEW.
