Will Ospreay issued a heartbreaking statement ahead of AEW Forbidden Door. This comes after he suffered a personal loss recently.

Will Ospreay is one of the most acclaimed professional wrestlers in the world. The Aerial Assassin has captivated audiences with his insane high-flying ability and has consistently wrestled at an unbelievable level. Hence, fans were excited when Ospreay signed with AEW. Since then, he has lived up to expectations and even won the International Championship.

Ospreay will now challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door. However, he recently suffered a huge personal loss when his grandmother passed away. Given how emotionally taxing this week was for him, Ospreay took to social media to issue a heartbreaking statement. He went into detail about how he felt during this week.

"About an hour away to go to the UBS arena for Forbidden Door. It will be my first ever PPV main event, myself and Swerve Strickland fighting for the world title, and it's been such an overwhelming week. Tuesday, I landed in America, I was given the news that my nan passed away. This is the first time I've ever lost a family member....it's all been such an emotional week and it's a relief as well because my nan was in so much pain, so for her to now be at peace is good, but it still doesn't stop the hurting."

He continued to plea with the fans to show him love and support during his main event match against Swerve Strickland amidst one of the hardest weeks of his life. He ended the video by thanking his fans and dedicated this match to his family and nan.

"I realize that tonight is going to be a 14-match card and the energy in that building is going to be spunked. I don't envy you guys at all but if there's something I can ask, if anybody's watching this video and attending tonight's show, save some of that energy, man, because I'm going to need it. It has been one of the hardest weeks of my entire life just to keep all this in. I've bottled everything up and now it's all coming here. It's all here right in front of me. For the first time, I'm going for the world title in the UBS arena."

Will Ospreay on how AJ Styles has influenced his career

AJ Styles made a name for himself in TNA Wrestling, where he was considered the face of the promotion. Styles was known for his in-ring ability and his consistency in delivering standout performances every time he stepped into the ring. He has been an inspiration to many of the younger wrestlers, including Will Ospreay.

During a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, Will Ospreay mentioned how Styles influenced him and paved the way for him to make a lot of money as a professional wrestler.

"AJ gave me so much, and he was complimentary and has opened the doorways to allow me to not only make a lot of money but to inspire the next generation. I'm extremely grateful for that and I'm so just thankful that I can be in a position where so many guys have come up to me and said, 'You're the reason I got into wrestling.'"
