A top AEW star has rejected the prospect of going on a date with Mariah May after the latter's shocking heel turn on the latest episode of Dynamite. The talent in question is Anthony Bowens, of The Acclaimed.

The Scissor King shares an interesting relationship with May on social media, where the latter has made several (albeit mostly unreciprocated) advances towards Bowens. However, the former AEW World Trios Champion is seemingly no longer interested in furthering his acquaintance with The Glamour after her actions on the July 10, 2024 edition of Dynamite.

The episode witnessed May defeating Willow Nightingale to win the 2024 Women's Owen Hart Cup, much to the delight of her mentor, Toni Storm. The victory grants The Fighting Princess a shot at Storm's AEW Women's World Championship at All In.

However, the duo will not be heading to the pay-per-view as allies, as May stunned fans in the Calgary Stampede Saddledome by blasting The Timeless One with the Owen Hart Tournament title belt. The English star went on to bust Storm open and then exacerbate the wound by targeting it with the latter's shoe, ending the show on a rather bleak note.

The concluding segment elicited a response from Anthony Bowens, who took to X/Twitter to react to a screenshot of Mariah May holding a bloody Toni Storm by backing out of a future date with the 25-year-old star.

"Ok, soooo we definitely ARE NOT going on that date now... WTF @MariahMayx," wrote Bowens.

The Acclaimed dissed The Young Bucks on AEW Dynamite

Max Caster and Anthony Bowens defeated Matthew and Nicholas Jackson in an AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Match on Dynamite last month. The victory entitles them to a shot at the championship which they had previously held in 2022.

The July 10, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite aired a music video featuring The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn. In his own signature fashion, "Platinum" Max Caster took several shots at The Young Bucks in his verses. The self-proclaimed Best Wrestler Alive did not spare their stable-mates from The Elite either, firing off against Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada and TNT Champion Jack Perry.

It remains to be seen when The Acclaimed will run it back with The Jackson Brothers, and whether the babyface duo can wrest away the AEW World Tag Titles fom the EVPs.
