Earlier this month, Daniel Garcia battled former AEW International Champion, Will Ospreay, for his title. MJF accompanied him to the ring and tried to help him win the championship by using underhanded tactics. However, he denied the former AEW World Champion's help. Ospreay retained his title and Garcia ended up being violently attacked by Friedman.

Following MJF's gruesome attack, it was reported that Daniel Garcia suffered cervical injuries. The 25-year-old is currently under care and his timeline for return is unknown.

In a recent episode of Close Up with Renee Paquette, All Elite Wrestling star 'Daddy Magic' Matt Menard candidly spoke about MJF's brutal attack on Garcia. Furthermore, he revealed that he and his peers were unaware of when the injured wrestler would return.

"This time has been stolen from him. What, it’s been two, three weeks now since Max did whatever he did. We don’t know when Daniel’s gonna come back," said Menard. [H/T Fightful]

Additionally, the 40-year-old explained that Garcia has lost strength in the left side of his body and is praying that he completely recovers.

"He lost all the strength in the left side of his body. [His body] has been through so much, and doctors are very careful. We do not know when Daniel’s going to come back. I just hope he makes a full recovery. It’s sad." [H/T Fightful]

According to Bryan Alvarez, Daniel Garcia might not return to AEW

Not only is Garcia sidelined due to injury, but reports suggest his contract with the Jacksonville promotion will expire soon. The reason the company wrote him off television was that they were unsure if the 25-year-old would sign a new contract.

Prominent wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez recently spoke about this subject on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"So the angle was done in case he doesn't come back. And if he does come back then they've got a storyline feud with MJF. But I know, he'd been thinking about it or he'd told people he'd been thinking about it."
