A top AEW faction was forced to relinquish its titles after being threatened with suspension by an official. The moment took place during an exclusive backstage segment after this week's Collision.
The AEW stars in question are Juice Robinson, Austin, and Colten Gunn of the Bang Bang Gang. On the latest episode of Collision, the trio successfully defended the All Elite Wrestling and ROH World Trios titles against London Lightning, Michael Allen Richard Clark, and Shaun Moore in the absence of Jay White.
After Bang Bang Gang's victory, acting AEW EVP Christopher Daniels announced that the group would be stripped of the titles for using the Freebird rule in Jay White's absence.
During an exclusive backstage segment, Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn refused to relinquish the Unified Trios Title. However, Christopher Daniels threatened to suspend them if they didn't follow his orders. Hence, the gold was vacated. Meanwhile, The Patriarchy teased pursuing the championships.
AEW stars sent a message to The Patriarchy
Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn also reflected on their ongoing feud with Christian Cage and The Patriarchy during the backstage segment. Austin also took a cheeky dig at The Patriarchy, as he sent the following message to the faction:
