WWE veteran Vince Russo recently recalled an emotional moment about Bryan Danielson during his time with WWE. The American Dragon officially retired from full-time in-ring competition at AEW WrestleDream.

Bryan Danielson is one of the most beloved professional wrestlers in the world. In 2014, seven-year-old fan Connor 'The Crusher' Michalek made appearances for WWE and developed a close friendship with his favorite wrestler Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson). Bryan and Connor also celebrated in the ring after The American Dragon's victory in the main event of WrestleMania 30. Connor passed away later that year and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Bryan in 2015.

During the latest episode of Sportskeeda's The Coach and Bro Wrestling Show on Backstage Pass, Vince Russo revealed that Bryan Danielson's behavior with Connor made him fall in love with him. He said that Bryan's gestures showed that he was real and true to the kid.

"I did not see Daniel Bryan's [Bryan Danielson] rise in the WWE. I was not watching the WWE at the time. I'm gonna tell you what made me fall in love with this guy. Bro, it was a WrestleMania and it was that Connor's Cure and they're all carrying on about Connor and bro, I'm watching this and I can tell, the only person that cared about that kid was Daniel Bryan. The rest of it was all propaganda bs look at us, look at what we're doing. I watched him with that kid and I'm like, bro, that dude is the real dude. Forget about the ring, when I saw him there as a human being, I'm like, bro, that guy is the real deal. I really really felt that." [00:50 - 2:00]

Mark Henry loved Bryan Danielson versus Jon Moxley at AEW WrestleDream

Jon Moxley defeated Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Title which has seemingly ended The American Dragon's full-time career. The match has received praise from the fans and some veterans including WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry.

In a recent edition of the Busted Open podcast, the former World Champion claimed that the promotion captured people's attention and shocked them in the main event of WrestleDream.

"For the first time in the history of wrestling you saw a match that Moxley did and didn't bleed (...) The suffocation, putting the duct tape on the wrists in the corner for Darby and attacking Bryan. I loved all of it, because... you need shock and awe to get people's attention in pro wrestling," he said. [H/T - Wrestling Inc.]

We will have to wait and see who will step up to challenge Jon Moxley in the upcoming weeks.
