A top star revealed how Tony Khan came to her with a "real plan" when trying to sign her. This move also convinced her to sign with AEW.

As soon as Mariah May signed with AEW, she aligned herself with Toni Storm and pretended to be her superfan. For weeks, May would follow Storm, and the two women would develop a close relationship. However, after Mariah May won the Owen Hart Cup, she turned on her mentor and left her in a pool of her own blood. Mariah will now face Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship at All In 2024.

During a recent interview with Busted Open Radio, Mariah May explained how she came to sign with AEW. She stated that Khan came to her with this storyline, which convinced her to sign with the promotion:

“The reason that I chose AEW is because Tony Khan came to me with this (Toni Storm) story. So it was like, okay, I’m not just being signed to a company because she’s got a bit of momentum or anything like that. It’s like, we have a real plan for you and it was something to sink my teeth into. I’ve got to work closely with R.J. City. He’s such a talented writer on this whole character and this whole story.”

David Finlay challenged Tony Khan to a match

Tony Khan has his fair share of fans, but he also has a lot of people who criticize him. More often than not, he is criticized for his poor booking decisions, but rarely does anyone ever challenge him to a match, which is what happened recently.

During a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, David Finlay stated that no one in AEW can beat him. He then challenged Tony to a steel cage match.

"I don't think there's a wrestler who can beat me in AEW, and if there's someone who wants to try, I'm willing to challenge him, but there are only guys below me in that organization. I can think positively about a Cage Match with [president and billionaire] Tony Khan. If I win, I'll get his bank account number." [H/T: Fightful]

Although this match is unlikely to happen, it would be interesting to watch the AEW boss step into the ring sometime in the future.
