AEW CEO Tony Khan recently spoke about a recently debuted star and revealed that the latter was supposed to arrive a few years back. The name in question is none other than Hologram.

Recently, vignettes teased the arrival of a new star in AEW, Hologram, who is reportedly the Mexican Luchador Aramis. The highflyer has quickly won over the AEW audience after picking up some huge victories against stars like Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, and more.

In a recent interview with Q101, AEW CEO Tony Khan revealed that he envisioned the Hologram character a long time ago and planned to introduce him to the audience in 2020. He also spoke about how he found the star behind the mask in PWG:

“Hologram’s a character I’ve really wanted to see in wrestling for a long time. It was a luchador I had envisioned a long time ago, and honestly, this is the person I wanted to play that role, to be that wrestler. He was a fantastic young talent. I saw him at PWG, and he was 18 years old, and we brought him, when he was a teenager, to Wednesday Night Dynamite, almost five years ago, about four-and-a-half years ago, right after the original Revolution in Chicago."

Khan also spoke about how Hologram's debut was canceled due to the pandemic in 2020:

"Literally, less than two weeks later, everything was shutting down, it was a crazy time in the world. We had brought him in, I was looking to make him Hologram then, and the world kind of went crazy, and he was locked down in Mexico for a long time. It was a long time before he made it back to America, and then I thought eventually, as things opened up, I really wanted to get Hologram in AEW. It’s been tremendous, it was great having Hologram team with Mistico last Saturday." H/T:[Fightful]

Hologram recently secured a major victory on AEW Collision

The Masked Highflyer teamed up with former WWE star Mistico to take on the team of Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese (The Premier Athelete). Hologram and Mistico had a strong showing in the match and managed to secure the victory when Hologram hit a 450-splash on Ariya Daivari. This was Hologram's third straight victory in All Elite Wrestling.

It will be interesting to see if Hologram's gets an opportunity for the Championship in All Elite Wrestling soon.
