Injuries are something that even the top professional wrestlers in companies like WWE and AEW are prone to. Dozens of stars suffer injuries every year. While most miss out on in-ring action for months, some are unfortunately forced to retire.
Earlier this year, former AEW World Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood reportedly injured his lower back after hitting Matt Jackson with a Piledriver at Dynasty Pay-Per-View. Furthermore, he did not reveal this to management which resulted in his condition getting worse. Eventually, he developed a hematoma and is going to be out of action for the foreseeable future. With that being said, ex-WCW star Disco Inferno did not hold back in criticizing Dax for hiding his injury from his employers.
In a recent episode of K100 w/ Konnan & Disco, Disco Inferno stated that no wrestler should hide their injuries in 2024 because a company is paying them every week. He further said that it is one's responsibility to report their injury because if their condition worsened, they would be out of action for a long time.
"Dax said he was hiding injuries... These issues need to be addressed. I should not be hiding concussions in the year 2024. You should not be hiding injuries when a company is paying you guaranteed money to you every week. They want you to stay healthy. So if you're not healthy, you're not telling them, you're exasperating injuries which can shelve you, they're losing their investment in you for the period of time that you're out." AEW star Dax Harwood apologized to Tony Khan for hiding his injury
After Dax Harwood learned of the severity of his injury, he took to social media and apologized to All Elite President Tony Khan and the company's medical staff.
"I want to apologize to my boss. I want to apologize to the front staff in AEW. I want to apologize, probably more than anything. I want to apologize to the medical staff, too, because I should have been up front."
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are two-time AEW World Tag Team Champions. Their team is called FTR, however, during their WWE run, they were known as The Revival.
