AEW star Swerve Strickland has taken to social media to pay tribute to Bryan Danielson. The latter's full-time in-ring career recently ended at WrestleDream 2024.

The American Dragon walked into the Tacoma Dome this past Saturday to defend the AEW World Championship against former-ally-turned-bitter-rival Jon Moxley. Despite his valiant efforts, the 43-year-old legend was beaten by The Purveyor of Violence, drawing the curtain on his decorated full-time career in the squared circle.

Danielson defeated Swerve Strickland to win the All Elite Wrestling World Championship earlier this year at All In 2024. The latter made his return to programming at WrestleDream 2024, appearing for the first time since his loss to Hangman Page at All Out last month.

On the heels of Jon Moxley and The Blackpool Combat Club seemingly putting an end to Bryan Danielson's pro-wrestling career, Swerve took to X/Twitter to pay tribute to his fellow Washington native.

"Oh yeah...... #ThankYouBryan," wrote Strickland.

Prior to All In, Strickland and Danielson had faced off on a 2023 iteration of Dynamite: Title Tuesday in October to determine the number one contender for the TNT Championship, with the latter picking up the victory.

What happened with Swerve Strickland at AEW WrestleDream

Swerve Strickland returned to All Elite Wrestling at WrestleDream 2024, revealing that he had been medically cleared despite the lingering effects of his brutal Unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match against Hangman Page at All Out. Just as he was about to address his future, Strickland and Prince Nana would be confronted by MVP and Shelton Benjamin.

The Franchise Playa alluded to his past history with Swerve and invited the latter to consider his offer of joining forces with his associates to bounce back from his recent losses. Strickland, in turn, acknowledged MVP's credentials as a manager and Benjamin's influence on him as a wrestler. However, Swerve remained steadfast in his loyalty to Prince Nana, claiming that he viewed his manager as family and rejecting the offer of The Hurt Syndicate.

After some physicality ensued between The New Flavor and The Gold Standard, MVP advised Benjamin to calm down and wait. The duo made their way to the back, but MVP ominously pointed to his watch, seemingly sending a message to Swerve and potentially teasing the arrival of Bobby Lashley.

It remains to be seen what lies next for Swerve Strickland in AEW.
