Swerve Strickland recently explained how he helped a major star return to AEW's main event scene. He was involved in a deeply personal rivalry with the talent in question.

The 11-time champion being discussed is 'Hangman' Adam Page. He has been integral to All Elite Wrestling's success since 2019. Page's last singles match came against Jay White at WrestleDream 2024, where he lost.

At the 2024 All Out pay-per-view, Adam Page registered a win over Swerve Strickland in a violent Unsanctioned Steel Cage Match. While speaking at the WrestleDream post-show media scrum, Strickland took credit for bringing Page back into AEW's main event scene.

“Right now, I think a lot of things have been settled, but there is a small minute piece that still hasn’t been settled with him. He can have that victory. He can have that unsanctioned victory over me. I have two legit victories over him. I’m always going to hold that over his head. Another thing was, over the last year, I was the best thing to happen to 'Hangman' Page. If you look at All Out last year, he was on Zero Hour doing a battle royal. I brought him to the main event.” [H/T: Inside The Ropes]

Page has held 11 titles in his career across promotions like CWF, ROH, WrestleForce, and PWX. He has also won the World Title and the World Tag Team Championship once in AEW.

Swerve Strickland rejected a major proposal from a former WWE star

Swerve Strickland took a break from AEW following his loss to Adam Page at All Out. He made his return at the WrestleDream pay-per-view. However, Strickland was interrupted by MVP and Shelton Benjamin.

The WWE veteran asked Strickland to join The Hurt Syndicate, but the former AEW World Champion rejected the proposal and declared that Prince Nana was his "family."

Strickland also had a heated exchange with Shelton Benjamin at WrestleDream. Will The Realest feud with The Hurt Syndicate in the coming weeks? Only time will tell.
