The former TNT Champion Darby Allin is set to square off against a House of Black faction member at AEW WrestleDream 2024. The match was teased on a recent show taping.
The House of Black member in question is Brody King. The 37-year-old has been on the All Elite Wrestling roster since his debut in 2022. He is currently a member of The HOB faction along with Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews. Brody last wrestled in a singles match on Collision recently where he defeated Action Andretti.
Meanwhile, Brody King is set for a big match at AEW WrestleDream. On Dynamite this past week, Darby Allin announced that he will throw an open challenge at WrestleDream as he doesn't have an opponent. During this week's Collision taping, Darby defeated Johnny TV in the opening match.
He also called out anyone from backstage citing his open challenge. Although no one showed up in the ring, Darby got attacked while on the stage by Brody King. The heel star also signaled that he will be Allin's opponent at the WrestleDream Pay-Per-View next week on Saturday.
Current WWE Champion believes Darby Allin could be the face of AEW
The current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently declared that Darby Allin could be the next face of AEW. In a recent interview with Josh Martinez, Cody stated the following:
"The answer is a guaranteed yes [I believe Darby Allin can be the face of AEW]. But, don’t let Darby fool you. He was never insecure, and he was never not confident. Darby is almost overconfident, and that’s what we do. We talk smack; we wrestle each other. This is entertainment. I don’t mind it, but sometimes your overconfidence is actually arrogance, when in his case, instead of it being arrogance, the experience that he’s had."
