Shane McMahon has been heavily rumored to join AEW for the past few months. The 54-year-old is one of the most recognizable names in the world of professional wrestling, as he is not only the son of Vince McMahon but also a former WWF European Champion and a former WWF Hardcore Champion.

Speculation about the former commissioner of SmackDown solidified due to several instances. A few weeks back, a photo of him and Tony Khan having a private meeting went viral on X (fka Twitter). Furthermore, AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks shared a picture with the WWE World Cup winner with the caption, "Interesting flight today."

On a recent Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL episode, prominent wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer was asked about the situation. He had an interesting thing to say. According to him, Shane O'Mac might be using AEW's name to force WWE into bringing him back.

"I mean, obviously, Shane is clearly doing something. And again, I don't know what it is, but either he is angling to get back into WWE and using AEW as like telling them, 'I'll go there if you don't bring me in'," said Meltzer.
