Wrestling veteran Vince Russo claimed that Shane McMahon could be helping a WWE icon start a new company after his meeting with Tony Khan. The icon in question is Vince McMahon.
Recently, a picture of Shane McMahon having a meeting with the AEW President, Tony Khan broke the internet. It fueled the rumors of Shane potentially joining All Elite Wrestling. While fans on the internet are still talking about the picture, former WWE veteran writer, Vince Russo has a different take on it.
Russo came up with a wild theory that Shane McMahon had a meeting with Tony Khan under the guidance of his father, Vince McMahon to spy and gather information regarding AEW, its TV deal, and more. Speaking on his YouTube channel recently, Vince Russo stated:
“I don’t think this is that far-fetched. What if, under the tutelage, guidance, and wisdom of his old man, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, Shane McMahon has a meeting with Tony Khan? The point of that meeting would be to gather information. So what if Shane finds out all about the TV deal, what they were paid, what they’re offering, the whole nine yards?"
Russo further said that Vince McMahon could start a new wrestling company after Shane does proper research:
"What if, under the tutelage and guidance of VKM, Shane goes to Warner Bros. Discovery, knowing all the numbers and all the facts, and says, ‘Gentlemen, give us a year. In a year, we will have a viable wrestling company. It’s in the works right now. Dad’s behind it, and nobody will ever know I am the face and the front man.’ He would literally say, ‘Give us one year, and in one year you can have this show for X amount of dollars.'” [H/T Ringside News]
Shane McMahon's close friend on him potentially joining AEW
Amid the rumors of Shane McMahon possibly heading to AEW, his close friend and former WWE star, Pete Gas addressed the possibility of Shane going All Elite while speaking on AdFreeShows recently:
“Never say never. That’s the only thing I can say. I don’t know. The history behind Shane, and everyone, Shane loves to kayfabe. Shane is not going to let anything out that he doesn’t want out. It’s funny because they teased that whole thing with him meeting with Khan."
Only time will tell if Shane will ever be joining Tony Khan's promotion.
