Sammy Guevara is an AEW Original. The 31-year-old has been with the company since the beginning, and earlier this summer he began working for Tony Khan's ROH. After a return to regular action for both companies, Guevara has now sent a statement of praise to one top star, while also issuing a warning, and teasing fate.

The Spanish God served a five-month AEW suspension earlier this year but was brought back to in late July but for ROH instead. He returned to the All Elite Wrestling ring weeks later, teaming with Dustin Rhodes to capture the ROH World Tag Team Championship from The Kingdom on Collision. Guevara only worked All Elite matches in September, while still defending his Ring of Honor gold. He recently faced Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada for the first time ever.

AEW's inaugural Collision: Grand Slam was headlined by Okada defeating Guevara in a Title Eliminator. Sammy failed to secure a future title shot from the 36-year-old Japanese legend, but still took to X/Twitter today with praise and congratulatory words for The Rainmaker.

The 14-year industry veteran pointed to how he sees the Continental Championship as part of his destiny. He attached a photo of their pre-match face-off.

"Closed out Arthur Ashe Stadium against Okada. It was an honor to step in the ring with one of the greats. Congrats on the win I’ll see you down the line. It wasn’t my night but it doesn’t mean tomorrow won’t be, we continue on. #destiny," Sammy Guevara wrote with the photo below.

Since dethroning Eddie Kingston on March 20, Okada has retained over the following challengers: PAC, Dax Harwood, Claudio Castagnoli, Kyle Fletcher, plus Konosuke Takeshita, Orange Cassidy, and Mark Briscoe in a Four Way bout. Sammy is a three-time TNT Champion and a one-time Interim TNT Champion.

Sammy Guevara retains in unique match on AEW TV

Sammy Guevara and Dustin Rhodes will begin this week by passing the 50-day mark in their first reign as ROH World Tag Team Champions. The odd pairing dethroned Matt Taven and Mike Bennett in mid-August on AEW Collision.

All Elite Wrestling brought back a rare gimmick match for Dustin and Sammy to make their first title defense, but with a twist, as this was AEW's first-ever Bunkhouse Brawl for a championship. The recent bloody Collision opener saw the current champions retain over the former champions in their rematch.

Guevara and Rhodes have not defended their titles on ROH programming as of this writing. After the title win on Collision in August, they teamed up to defeat The Dark Order in a non-title Proving Ground match at the August 31 tapings, and have not returned to the ROH ring as a tag team since then.
