WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long recently spoke about the future of Ricochet and mentioned that he should sign with TNA Wrestling instead of AEW. All Elite Wrestling CEO Tony Khan has said he is interested in hiring the former champion.

The Highlight of the Night had a great career in WWE, winning the Intercontinental, United States, and NXT North American championships. Ricochet gave the WWE Universe some of the best high-flying moments in recent memory. However, he chose not to renew his contract when it expired in July 2024. He was officially written off television after a brutal assault from Bron Breakker.

On the recent edition of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast with Mac Davis, Teddy Long said he would like to see Ricochet sign with TNA, as he had a better chance of succeeding in the Nashville-based promotion than in All Elite Wrestling.

"Oh yeah, no doubt about it his chances are 100% better if he does go to TNA. Don't know who he would face there yet, you know what I mean? But I think he'd be in a better position right there." [06:41 - 06:54]

Vince Russo has an interesting idea for Ricochet's potential AEW character

Many believe Ricochet's next destination will be the Tony Khan-led AEW. Moreover, several top names in the promotion like Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland have teased The One and Only's arrival.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo, WWE veteran Vince Russo proposed an interesting character for Ricochet in All Elite Wrestling. He explained that the former champion could act like All Elite Wrestling was beneath him as he was coming from the Stamford-based promotion.

"You know what would be interesting? You wanna get heat on this guy with the AEW crowd? You really wanna get heat on him? Bro, I would have him coming over from the WWE and kinda basically say, 'Ya bro, I was in the WWE because I am better than all of you. And the reason why I am here now is 'cause they could no longer afford to pay me.' But really like, really go down the road of he is so much better than all the guys that were never at the WWE," Russo said. [3:32 onwards]

It will be interesting to see what's next for Ricochet in pro wrestling after his exit from the Stamford-based promotion.
