Ricochet recently opened up about joining AEW following his contract expiry with WWE. The star is one of the most popular high-flyers in the world.

The former WWE star made his debut at All In in the Casino Gauntlet match and took the fans inside Wembley Stadium on a ride. He also had his first match against Kyle Fletcher on Dynamite this week.

He has now spoken out how it was a hard decision to leave his former workplace. However, he also said that he was looking forward to seeing what is in store for him in the promotion.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Ricochet stated that moving to WWE was a big decision but he has always been open to change.

“It was definitely a big decision, but honestly, yes and no. Obviously, yes it was hard because it’s a place I’ve been for the last six years. I’ve met. I got some really good connections, some friends, and some good memories there. So it was definitely hard. But at the same time, no, it wasn’t because I am a person who has always changed. I’ve always done stuff, so that’s something that I was looking forward to."

He also added that AEW seemed fun to him.

"I just saw what AEW was doing. I saw the guys and girls over there and what they were doing, and it just seemed so fun. You want to be a part of it. Now that I’m able to and able to be a part of it and hopefully help move it forward into the next, generation is going to be awesome. So, as hard of a decision as it was, I knew it was the right decision.”

Bill Apter thinks Ricochet should have won the Casino Gauntlet match at All In

Despite making his debut in the Casino Gauntlet match, Ricochet did not win the match. It was Christian Cage who won the match and will now challenge the AEW World Champion.

Bill Apter had his say on the situation and said that the former WWE star should have won that match because it was his moment. Speaking on The Wrestling Time Machine, he said:

"Wait a minute. I have an issue with that. He makes his debut in AEW in the Gauntlet Match to get a shot at the World Title. Christian Cage wins the Gauntlet Match. If you're the promoter, this is Ricochet's debut in the company, wouldn't you have put him over? That's one of the reason he left WWE. They weren't using him."

It will be interesting to see what is in store for Ricochet in AEW and how he will be able to get to the top.
