Fans have started speculating wildly after a top AEW star opened up about his contract expiry in the near future. The star being discussed is Dustin Rhodes.

The Natural has been in the pro wrestling industry for more than 35 years now. He has wrestled in different promotions like WCW, WWE, TNA, and many other companies throughout his career. He is most famously remembered for his Goldust gimmick in the Stamford-based promotion.

The 55-year-old star has proven to be a great asset for the Tony Khan-based promotion as his experience has been helping young guys in the promotion. While Dustin is still signed to the Jacksonville-based promotion, his brother Cody Rhodes left the company in 2022 and is currently working in WWE.

A Twitter user recently tweeted about Dustin Rhodes allegedly leaving AEW after his contract ends in September 2024. The veteran then debunked the rumors saying wasn't retiring after his contract expired in September as he wanted to continue wrestling. Dustin also stated that he hoped to receive a new contract from the Jacksonville-based promotion.

After he provided an update on his contract, many fans wanted Dustin to re-join WWE and align with Cody Rhodes.

Dustin Rhodes reveals what he thought of Cody Rhodes' leaving AEW to join WWE

Cody Rhodes left AEW in February 2022 and returned to WWE. He is the current Undisputed WWE Champion and has been the face of the promotion for a couple of years now.

While speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, The Natural remarked that Cody made a smart decision by betting on himself and leaving AEW. Dustin was very proud of Cody taking the leap based on his faith in himself and succeding. He admired the smart decision and was happy with Cody's success.

"He [Cody] made a smart decision. He made a very smart decision. Look at him now. You know, he is the man here. So, it's incredible. Incredible ride, incredible journey from him leaving the WWE for the first time, and saying he's betting on himself, and just taking the ball and f*cking running with it. And he created something really cool. That's awesome," he said.

It remains to be seen what the next step could be for Dustin Rhodes after his contract expires in September.
