A newly signed WWE star has revealed interesting details about a match she had with Mercedes Moné in AEW. This makes for an interesting read for the fans.
Stephanie Vaquer signed with WWE in July after a brief time with AEW. During her short time there, she wrestled Mercedes Moné in a winner take all match at Forbidden Door. After losing the match, where she also lost her NJPW Strong Women’s title, she left the company.
Moné recently said that her match with Vaquer was instrumental in the latter signing up with the Stamford-based promotion. Vaquer has now doubled down on those comments and said that the match with Moné was important. Taking to Instagram Stories, she wrote:
“Before that match, I had 4 days of just sleeping on planes and weeks of working daily, also many hours without eating, a great challenge with a great wrestler, she was really nice 🫶. When you work hard for a long time, it always brings rewards. 🔥”
Mercedes Moné calls Natalya an absolute legend
Natalya has been in the wrestling industry for a long time and she is universally respected for her work. Names from both companies admire her and Mercedes Moné had her say on the matter the same recently.
In the latest edition of the Mone Mag, she hailed Natalya as an absolute legend and said that she helped shape her career.
"Let me start with Natalya, an absolute legend in her own right. She’s been wrestling longer than me and has helped shape so many careers, including mine. My first dark match, some of my first NXT matches, Natalya was right there with me. I still remember being in the ring with her, and she would whisper things like, 'You’re doing great,' or 'Amazing job!' Honestly, that meant the world to me,'' she wrote.
It is great to see someone like Mercedes Moné speak so highly of another fellow wrestler. It will be interesting to see what Natalya will have to say about this.
