AEW star Keith Lee has been out of action since December 2023. There has been a new update on his future which got a reaction from the fans.

Keith Lee is one of the most athletic big men in professional wrestling presently. After a disappointing run on WWE's main roster, he signed with AEW in 2022. Initially, his run in the Jacksonville-based promotion got off to a good start as he won the AEW World Tag Team Championship with Swerve Strickland.

After their partnership came to an end, Swerve Strickland got pushed to new heights while Lee struggled to find himself in many meaningful storylines. While he was a regular feature on Dynamite and Collision, he was far from the main event star that people expected him to be. To add to his woes, Lee had to be pulled from his AEW World's End bout against Swerve Strickland as he had to undergo double surgeries.

His last wrestling match took place on the December 23, 2023, episode of Collision against Brian Cage. Since then, he has not competed inside the ring. Fightful Select is now reporting that Lee is yet to be cleared for a return from his medical issue. However, it is still not known what is wrong with him.

Following this report, fans took to X (fka Twitter) to give their thoughts on the current situation of Lee. Most of them appeared sympathetic to Lee's situation and wished him good health.

Dijak is interested in a match against Keith Lee

Keith Lee and Dijak had an interesting rivalry during their time in NXT. They even competed in a couple of stellar matches.

Now that Dijak also left the WWE, he revealed on the Wrestling with Things podcast that he is interested in a match against Lee.

"The only people I'm disinterested in working with are the people who are phoning it in right because I've had plenty of those matches before. [...] I think the money match is obviously myself and Keith Lee, we have a very storied history, I think the fans are going to clamor for that. I think that's the kind of match that you can build an entire pay-per-view around if you really want to," he said. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]

Given Lee's recent health update, it could be a while before fans will get to see this match.
