AEW personality Taz recently made an important announcement regarding his surgery. The veteran is one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling.

At AEW Dynamite's fifth anniversary show, it was revealed that Taz had been attacked in the parking lot and would not be available for commentary during the show. It was also confirmed that the veteran had been hospitalized following the incident and the angle also involved his son Hook who promised to find the attacker.

On his X (fka Twitter) account, the ECW legend revealed that he will be out for a notable amount of time thanks to a total knee replacement surgery he was scheduled to undergo.

"Unfortunately, I will be out for awhile. I’ll be having total knee replacement surgery very soon. Talk to you guys down the road," he wrote.

We will have to wait and see when The Human Suplex Machine returns to the commentary desk on All Elite Wrestling programming.

Taz thanked former FTW Champions after AEW Grand Slam

Taz reinstated the FTW Championship at All Elite Wrestling in 2020. Since then the title has been held by several talents in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

At AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam from Arthur Ashe Stadium last week, Hook defeated Roderick Strong to win the FTW Championship. Following his major victory, the winner decided to retire the championship by giving it to his father, Taz.

Taking to X, the 56-year-old legend who was the inaugural FTW Champion thanked the previous title holders like Sabu, Brian Cage, Jack Perry, Jericho, and others.

"I would like to thank all of the men whom have held the FTW Championship…. @TheRealSabuECW @briancagegmsi @starkmanjones @boy_myth_legend @IAmJericho & @730hook And also any fan that has supported/enjoyed this championship during the ECW years or in modern day wrestling during the current AEW years…thank you," he wrote.

It will be interesting to see if the FTW Championship makes another appearance on All Elite Wrestling or any other wrestling promotion in the future.

We at Sportskeeda Wrestling wish Taz a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
