A top AEW star recently shared her excitement about competing in Japan for the first time in her career. The star is none other than Anna Jay.
The 26-year-old is set to take part in this year's STARDOM 5Star Grand Prix. Anna Jay will feature in the Blue Stars A Block alongside other STARDOM talents like Xena, Syuri, Starlight Kid, and more. The tournament will take place between August 10 and 31, 2024.
In a heartfelt promo posted by STARDOM's Twitter (X) account, the AEW star spoke about competing in Japan for the first time in her career. Anna Jay shared her excitement and revealed that she was honored to be a part of the tournament. The talented star claimed that traveling to Japan and wrestling there had always been her dream.
"Hi guys, Anna Jay here, and I just wanna say how excited and honored I am to be competing in this year's 5 Star Grand Prix tournament. It's something I never thought I was gonna be able to do, and now we're here, and now it's happening, and it's literally next week. So I'm so excited; like I said, I'm so honored to be doing so. I've never been to Japan. That's also just a bucket list destination in itself. So to be able to go to Japan and wrestle, which is my dream, is an incredible opportunity, and I cannot wait," she said. [H/T: Fightful]
AEW star Anna Jay hopes she will reach the finals of the 5Star GP
Anna Jay will find herself surrounded by a stacked field of talent during the tournament. However, the 26-year-old has confidence in her abilities, and she has set sights on reaching the finals.
During the same interview, the AEW star stated that her goal was to get better as a professional wrestler.
"As for my personal goals within this tournament, obviously, I just want to get better as a wrestler, better as a performer, and hone my craft as much as I can in the time that I'm there. Something I'm also setting a goal for myself is to be in the finals. Whether or not that's a far reach or not, I don't care. We all have to have goals and dreams. So that is my goal," she added.
