AEW star Ricochet recently met one of his former partners after seven long years. The star in question here is Japanese pro wrestler CIMA.

Ricochet and CIMA used to be tag team partners during their time in Dragongate Japan Pro-Wrestling. They also held the Open the United Gate Championship in the promotion. The last time Ricochet and CIMA joined forces for a match was at Dragon Gate: The Gate of Evolution 2017, where they defeated Tribe Vanguard (Kzy and YAMATO).

The two old buddies are set to unite again for a tag team match for the GLEAT promotion's event in Osaka on October 6, 2024. A day before the match, The Highlight of The Night and CIMA met at the airport.

CIMA shared the picture of their reunion on his official X (Twitter) profile and wrote:

"We finally met! I'm glad I continued wrestling! Tomorrow, I'm going to go all MEGA and be great!'' [Translation va X]

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion replied:

"We're back! Yuuuuuu!"

Ricochet fails to capture the AEW International Championship from Will Ospreay

This past Wednesday on Dynamite's fifth anniversary special episode, Ricochet locked horns with Will Ospreay in a singles match for the AEW International Championship. The two stars delivered brilliant performances. However, the match initially ended in a draw due to a double pinfall.

The One and Only and The Aerial Assassin were not happy with the outcome and wanted to continue the match. Therefore, AEW President Tony Khan gave the green flag, and the referee re-started the match.

However, they were interrupted by Konosuke Takeshita, who took out both the champion and the challenger, thus ending the match in disqualification.

Later, Tony Khan took to his X (Twitter) account to announce that the AEW International Champion will defend his title against the erstwhile Prince Puma and Konosuke Takeshita in a Three-way match at WrestleDream 2024.
